Matt Henderson competes with Crate Racin' USA at Talladega Short Track
Matt Henderson traveled to Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Ala.) on Friday afternoon to pilot the David Kay-owned No. K5 Late Model for the Red Farmer Tribute.
Drawing a stout field of 45 Crate Racin’ USA series entries for the two-day event, Henderson’s runner-up finish in his heat race pinned him on the seventh row for the opening night feature. With $3,700 on the line, Matt pulled off early from the 37-lap affair on the seventh circuit.
On Saturday, Matt secured his spot into the $6,000-to-win finale with a seventh-to-fourth run in his heat. With the track taking rubber early, Henderson retired to save equipment.
