Matt Henderson bags two-win weekend, elevates win total to seven
Matt Henderson enjoyed a two-win weekend behind the wheel of his Stanco Equipment Co. No. 17 Vineyard Lawn / CVR Race Car / Hendren Racing Engine Late Model over the weekend.
With the victories he pushed his 2021-win total to seven.
“We started the weekend a little off at 411 Motor Speedway, but from there things went flawlessly at I-75 Raceway and Crossville Speedway. We regrouped after our Friday night struggles, and the proof was in the results on Saturday and Sunday,” Henderson commented. “A huge thank you goes out to everyone who supports our racing program. Seven wins on the season by mid-May isn’t something we take lightly, and now we’re just hungrier than ever for more.”
Friday night found Matt Henderson in action at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.), where he was piloting the CVR Race Car No. 17 house car. With the third-fastest qualifying lap pinning him third on the starting grid for the main event, Henderson faded one spot late in the 25-lapper to register a third-place finish. He trailed Mack McCarter and Jake Teague to the checkers with Jason Cardwell and Rusty Ballenger completing the Top-5 finishers.
The following night at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.) for the United Championship Racing Alliance (UCRA)-sanctioned Spring Loaded 40, Matt topped the speed charts in time trials before picking up a heat race win. Leading wire-to-wire in the feature, Henderson cruised to his sixth win of the season over Mack McCarter, Kyle Courtney, Hayden Ownbey, and Jesse Lowe. He earned $2,500.
On Sunday afternoon at Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tenn.), Henderson followed up the fastest lap in qualifying with a flag-to-flag victory in the feature. The win marked his seventh of the season.
